It spans in a southeast to northwest direction. LA 3017 is commonly referred to as Peters Road in Jefferson Parish and Engineers Road in Plaquemines Parish. ==Route description== From the southeast, LA 3017 begins at an intersection with LA 23 (Belle Chasse Highway). The route (at this point commonly called Engineers Road) then runs in a southwesterly direction between Bayou Barataria and the ICWW. As it nears the Harvey Canal, it turns northward and crosses Bayou Barataria into Jefferson Parish. At this point, LA 3017 is known as Peters Road. The highway continues northward along the east side of the Harvey Canal. It eventually passes Lapalco Boulevard and BUS US 90 (the West Bank Expressway) before ending at LA 18 (4th Street). Like its counterpart LA 3018 (which runs parallel to the west side of the canal), LA 3017's length is lined with industrial, shipping, and oil service companies due to its proximity to the shipping channel. At one point in history, LA 3017 provided a secondary access route to Plaquemines Parish south of Belle Chasse, as the road connected with Concord Road, which met Belle Chasse Highway south of the town.
